Train MMA Near Barcelona Airport: Ryutai II at 15 Minutes
If you're looking for an MMA gym in Viladecans with easy access from Barcelona Airport, Baix Llobregat cities like Sant Boi, Gavà and El Prat, you've come to the right place. At Ryutai II, our center specialized in Mixed Martial Arts is strategically located just 15 minutes from El Prat Airport, making it the perfect option for airport workers, frequent travelers, and residents from the entire region.
Location is one of the most important factors for maintaining consistency in your MMA training. No matter how motivated you are, if the gym is too far away or difficult to reach, you'll end up missing sessions.
That's why, in this guide I'll show you exactly how to get to Ryutai II from multiple points in Baix Llobregat and Barcelona, with public transport, car, and even bicycle options.
Since we opened Ryutai II in 2016, we've seen our community grow to over 200 satisfied students, many of them coming regularly from Sant Boi (8 minutes), Gavà (12 minutes), El Prat (10 minutes), Barcelona downtown (20 minutes), and even airport workers (15 minutes) who train before or after their shifts. The accessibility of our location has been key for them to maintain their discipline and progress in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Grappling and Boxing.
Exact Location of Ryutai II: Your MMA Gym in Viladecans
Before talking about how to get here, it's important you know exactly where we're located:
Ryutai II - MMA & BJJ Headquarters Carrer del Sol, 64, 08840 Viladecans, Barcelona
This is our headquarters specialized in grappling sports and MMA, where you'll find professional facilities with over 120 square meters of tatami, UFC-grade equipment, and a family atmosphere perfect for both beginners and competitors.
To locate us better, we're in the heart of Viladecans, in a quiet residential area but very well connected. If you're walking from Viladecans train station, it's approximately 10 minutes on foot (850 meters). The building is easily recognizable: it's a two-story warehouse with our Ryutai signage at the main entrance.
GPS coordinates for your navigator: 41.3108° N, 2.0158° E. If you use Google Maps or any navigation app, simply search for "Ryutai Viladecans - Sede MMA & BJJ" and it'll take you right to the door.
Regarding parking, there are multiple free parking options on adjacent streets. Carrer del Sol has available spaces, and parallel streets (Carrer de la Lluna, Carrer de Mercuri) also offer parking without time restrictions. I've never seen any student have parking problems, even during peak hours of 19:00-20:00.
If you're coming by bicycle, there are bike racks right in front of the gym, and the area is very safe to leave your bike. Several of our students come cycling from Sant Boi or Gavà when the weather is nice.
From Barcelona Airport (BCN): 15 Minutes to Your Training
This is probably the most interesting route and one of our great advantages. If you work at Barcelona Airport - El Prat, or if you travel frequently and want to squeeze in a training session before or after your flight, Ryutai II is incredibly close.
Option 1: Car, Taxi or Uber (15 minutes, 12-18€)
The fastest way is by car. From any terminal at Barcelona Airport, the route is very straightforward:
- Exit the airport following signs to C-32B (Castelldefels/Sitges)
- Take exit 48 towards Viladecans Centro
- Follow signs to downtown Viladecans
- In 3-4 minutes you'll be at Carrer del Sol, 64
In total it's approximately 7 kilometers which, without traffic, takes 12-15 minutes. Even with moderate traffic, you rarely exceed 20 minutes. A taxi from the airport costs between 12-18€ (Uber/Cabify similar).
This proximity is ideal if you work in handling, security, retail shifts or any area of BCN airport:
- Morning shift (7:00-15:00) → Class 17:00-18:30
- Afternoon shift (15:00-23:00) → Class 21:00-22:30
- Night shift → Class 10:00-14:00 Saturdays
Many of our students come directly after their shift. 15 minutes from Terminal T1/T2.
Option 2: Public Transport (18-20 minutes)
If you prefer public transport, the connection is also excellent thanks to the Rodalies train:
-
R2 Sud train from the Airport: From Barcelona Airport train station (Terminal T2), take the R2 Sud train towards Sant Vicenç de Calders. Viladecans station is the second stop, only 8 minutes journey.
-
From Viladecans station to Ryutai II: You have two options: - On foot (10 minutes): Exit the station, turn left on Carrer de Sant Joan, continue to Carrer del Sol. It's a pleasant walk and you arrive directly.
- Bus L46 or L95: If you prefer bus, there are stops right in front of the station. Both lines stop near Carrer del Sol.

- Train R2 Sud from Terminal T2 → 8 minutes → Viladecans Station
- Walk to Carrer del Sol 64 → 10 minutes
- Total time: 18-20 minutes | Price: 2.40€ (T-Casual zone 1)
Train frequency: every 15-20 minutes all day
The R2 Sud train frequency is excellent: every 15-20 minutes throughout the day, which means you never wait long. A single ticket costs 2.40€ (zone 1) or you can use the T-Casual if you live in Barcelona metropolitan area.
Option 3: Bicycle (30 minutes)
For the more athletic, there's a bike lane connecting the airport with Viladecans following the Ronda Litoral. It's approximately 7 kilometers of flat route, perfect for warming up before your MMA session. Several students do this in summer: it's their pre-training cardio.
For Travelers in Barcelona
If you're traveling in Barcelona and want to maintain your MMA training, or simply want to try a class while you're in the city, Ryutai II is super accessible. You can store your luggage in the gym lockers, train, shower in our facilities, and return to the airport with plenty of time for your flight. We've had several international travelers who have come to train between flight connections, and they always leave with a great experience.
Do you work at Barcelona Airport or travel frequently? Take advantage of your proximity to Ryutai II. Book your free class today and train before or after your shift/flight. No commitment, no contract.
From Neighboring Cities in Baix Llobregat
One of the things I'm most proud of about Ryutai II is the diversity of cities our students come from. We have people training from Sant Boi, Gavà, El Prat, Cornellà, L'Hospitalet and Barcelona downtown. Let's break down each route:
From Sant Boi de Llobregat (8 minutes by bus)
Sant Boi is practically a neighbor to Viladecans, and the connection is excellent:
Bus L46 (recommended option): This is the star bus for coming from Sant Boi.
- Departure: Plaza de la Generalitat (Sant Boi downtown)
- Arrival: Stop "Viladecans - Carrer del Sol" (2 min walking)
- Time: 8 minutes
- Frequency: Every 10-15 minutes (until 22:00)
- Price: 2.40€ (T-Casual zone 1 valid)
This line drops you practically at Ryutai II's door. Regular service all day.
By car: If you prefer car, it's only 5-7 minutes via B-224. There's always free parking available.
I have several students from Sant Boi who come 3-4 times a week on bus L46. They've told me it's so comfortable and fast that they don't even consider training elsewhere. The bus punctuality is excellent, especially during our class hours (17:00-22:30).
From Gavà (12 minutes by bus)
Bus L95: This line connects Gavà downtown with Viladecans in approximately 12 minutes. It leaves from Plaza de la Villa de Gavà and passes through several stops before arriving in Viladecans. The frequency is every 15-20 minutes, and the service runs until 22:00 on weekdays.
By car: The car alternative is super fast. Via C-245 it's only 7 minutes from Gavà downtown to Ryutai II. The road is direct, no tolls, and as I mentioned, free parking no problem.
Several students from Gavà have told me they chose Ryutai II specifically for the quality of our instructors (we're Team Calderón with Catalan national team experience) and for the variety of MMA, BJJ and Grappling classes we offer. Although they have closer options in Gavà, they prefer to make the 10-12 minute journey for the level of teaching and the community we've built.
From El Prat de Llobregat (10 minutes by bus)
Bus L77: This is the direct connection from El Prat. Bus L77 leaves from El Prat downtown and takes approximately 10 minutes to reach Viladecans. The frequency is every 15 minutes during the day.
What's interesting about El Prat is that it also has direct connection with the airport, so if you work at the airport but live in El Prat, you have multiple route options to get to Ryutai II.
By car: Via C-245 it's 8 minutes from El Prat downtown. Several airport workers who live in El Prat come directly after their shift, leave the car on nearby streets (there's always space), and train before going home.
From Barcelona Downtown (20 minutes by train)
Yes, we have students who come regularly from Barcelona city, and I'll explain why it's worth it:
Rodalies Train R2 Sud: From key Barcelona stations like Passeig de Gràcia, Sants or Plaça Catalunya, take the R2 Sud train towards Sant Vicenç de Calders. Viladecans station is one of the first stops, approximately 20 minutes from downtown Barcelona.
The R2 Sud frequency is excellent: every 15-20 minutes throughout the day and until late at night.
Example routine Barcelona → Ryutai II:
- 18:00 - Leave work Barcelona
- 18:15 - R2 Sud train from Sants/Passeig de Gràcia
- 18:35 - Arrive Viladecans station
- 18:45 - Arrive Ryutai II (10 min walking)
- 19:00 - Class starts
Total: 1 hour from work to class. Perfect timing.
From Viladecans station: As I mentioned before, it's 10 minutes walking or you can take bus L46/L95 if you prefer.
Why come from Barcelona? I get asked this often. The answer is simple:
Ryutai II vs Barcelona Downtown Gyms:
- Price: More economical than Barcelona city
- Attention: Personalized (not overcrowded)
- Instructors: National/international competition experience
- Community: +200 students, family atmosphere (not anonymous)
- Facilities: 120m² dedicated MMA tatami (not multipurpose)
In Barcelona downtown, MMA gyms are usually more expensive, overcrowded, and with high instructor turnover.
Plus, the train journey is time you can use: several students have told me they use those 20 minutes to disconnect from work, watch MMA technique videos on YouTube, or simply relax before training. The train becomes your mental transition work → training.
From Cornellà and L'Hospitalet (25-30 minutes)
Option 1 - Metro + Train: From Cornellà, you can take metro L5 to Cornellà Centre station, and then connect with the Rodalies train R2 Sud that stops at Viladecans. Total time: approximately 25 minutes.
Option 2 - Bus: Depending on your exact location in Cornellà or L'Hospitalet, there are bus lines connecting with Viladecans, although they usually have more stops.
By car: Via C-32 highway from Cornellà it's about 15 minutes to Viladecans, without traffic. If you come during rush hour, calculate 25-30 minutes.
The advantage of coming from these cities is that you avoid the heavy traffic of downtown Barcelona, and once you leave the city, the route to Viladecans is very smooth.
Access by Car and Parking: Everything You Need to Know
If your main option is the car, let me give you all the details so you arrive without problems:
Main Highways
From Barcelona and the north: Take the C-32 (Castelldefels Highway) southbound. Exit at exit 48 "Viladecans Centro". From the exit, follow signs to downtown Viladecans. In 5 minutes you'll be at Carrer del Sol.
From Castelldefels and the south: Via C-32 towards Barcelona, same exit 48.
From the interior (Sant Boi, Gavà, El Prat): The C-245 and B-224 are your roads. Both are local, no tolls, and take you directly to downtown Viladecans.
Free Parking
All parking around Ryutai II is 100% free. No blue zone or time restrictions.
Best streets for parking:
- Carrer del Sol - Right in front of the gym
- Carrer de la Lluna - Parallel street, always has spaces
- Carrer de Mercuri - One street away
- Carrer de Venus - Another nearby option
In 8 years, never has a student had a parking problem. Even during peak hours (19:00-20:00), there's always space within 2 min walking.
Traffic and Best Times
Rush hour (17:30-19:00):
- From Barcelona/highways: +10-15 minutes extra
- Recommendation: Leave 15 min earlier or use 21:00 class
Off peak hours:
- Barcelona downtown: 20 minutes
- Airport: 12 minutes
- Sant Boi/Gavà/El Prat: 5-12 minutes
Saturday mornings: Zero traffic, super fast access from anywhere.
Gas and Electric Charging
There are several gas stations in Viladecans if you need to refuel before or after training:
- Repsol on Carretera de la Marina (5 minutes from the gym)
- BP on Avinguda de Baltà de Cela
For electric cars, there are charging points at Vilamarina shopping center (10 minutes walking) and at Viladecans Mercadona.
Schedules Optimized For Your Commute
One of the aspects I care most about at Ryutai II is that our MMA schedules adapt to the real commuting needs of our students from Barcelona Airport, Sant Boi, Gavà, El Prat and Barcelona downtown.
17:00-18:30 Classes: Ideal If Coming From Work
This is the first afternoon class. Perfect if you finish work at 16:00-16:30 and want to train before going home. Several students who work at Barcelona Airport on morning shift (7:00-15:00) come to this class. It also works well for self-employed or people with flexible schedules.
19:00-20:30 Classes: Avoid Rush Hour
This is the most popular schedule, and with good reason. If you leave work in Barcelona at 18:00, you arrive in Viladecans between 18:35-18:45, you have 15 minutes to change and warm up, and you start class at 19:00. By the time you finish at 20:30, return traffic has already decreased considerably.
Real example - Carlos (Barcelona downtown):
"I leave the office at Plaça Catalunya at 18:10, catch the R2 Sud at 18:20, I'm in Viladecans at 18:40, walk 10 minutes to Ryutai, change calmly, and at 19:00 I'm ready. Perfect."
21:00-22:30 Classes: For Those Who Work Late
If you have a work schedule that ends at 19:00-20:00, this is your class. Many students who work in retail, hospitality, or afternoon shifts at Barcelona Airport come to this class. You finish at 22:30, shower, and you're home before 23:30 even if you come from Barcelona.
Saturdays 10:00-14:00: No Traffic, Easy Access
On Saturdays there's no traffic, public transport is emptier, and parking is completely available. This is the perfect class to try if it's your first time, or if during the week it's complicated due to work schedules. Many parents also take advantage to bring their children to the kids' classes we have at Ryutai I.
Do these schedules fit you? Perfect. Book your free class for the time that suits you best. No commitment, no contract. First class 100% free.
Why the Commute to Ryutai II Is Worth It
After explaining all the transport options, I want you to understand why more than 200 students choose to travel to Ryutai II, some from cities 20-30 minutes away:
Real Professional Facilities
Ryutai II has over 120 square meters of professional tatami. It's not a multipurpose gym where sometimes there's MMA and other times zumba. It's a facility 100% dedicated to martial arts: MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Grappling and Boxing.
The equipment is professional grade: grappling bags, dummies, federation-approved MMA gloves, UFC-grade equipment. Everything you need to train like a professional, even if you're a beginner.
Team Calderón Instructors: Catalan National Team Experience
I, Fran Calderón, have competed at national level in MMA and was part of the Catalan K1 national team. Together with Sheila Martínez and the rest of the team, we have over 15 years teaching martial arts. We're not instructors who did a quick course: we're active and retired competitors who live this every day.
When you come to Ryutai II (your MMA gym in Viladecans), I teach you personally or instructors from my team with the same level of demand and experience. That makes the difference between progressing fast or getting stuck.
Community of Over 200 Students
One of the most valuable aspects of Ryutai is the community. You don't just come to kick a bag: you train with 200+ partners of all levels, from absolute beginners to active MMA competitors.
This means you always have training partners at your level, people to spar with, partners who motivate you, and a family atmosphere where everyone knows each other. Several students have told me they come as much for the training as for the community we've built.
Variety of Classes in the Same Location
At Ryutai II you don't just train MMA. You can combine with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to improve your ground game, Grappling for your no-gi wrestling, and Boxing to perfect your striking. All in the same facility, with the same team of instructors, without having to travel to multiple gyms.
Many students train 3-4 times a week alternating disciplines:
- Monday: MMA
- Wednesday: BJJ
- Friday: Grappling
- Saturday: Boxing
This variety accelerates your progress and keeps training fresh.
First Class Completely Free
I know that traveling to Viladecans without knowing the gym can raise doubts. That's why we offer the first class completely free, no commitment. Come, try a complete MMA session, meet the instructors, feel the atmosphere, and then decide.
- No fine print: It's literally free
- No equipment needed: We lend you gloves
- Duration: 90-minute complete session
- No commitment: Try and decide after
- Over 200 students tried it this way and stayed
There's no fine print: it's literally free. Bring your sportswear (if you don't have gloves, we'll lend them to you), train 90 minutes with us, and decide if it's for you. Over 200 students tried it this way, and stayed.
No Contract: Total Flexibility
We don't require 6 or 12-month contracts like many gyms. We understand that life changes: jobs, schedules, personal situations. That's why our system is flexible:
- Month-to-month enrollment (no long contracts)
- No penalty if you need to stop for a month
- Ideal if you come from Barcelona, Sant Boi, Gavà or El Prat
- Your commuting situation may change - you won't be trapped
Real flexibility for people with real lives.
This is especially important if you come from Barcelona or neighboring cities: you're not trapped in a long contract if your commuting situation changes.
Real Student Testimonials
Marc - Sant Boi (Bus L46, 8 minutes)
"I take bus L46 three times a week. It's 8 minutes of travel that I use to mentally prepare before training. I've been at Ryutai for two years and wouldn't change for anything. The teaching quality has no comparison with other places I tried closer to home."
Laura - Barcelona (Train R2 Sud, 20 minutes)
"At first I thought 20 minutes by train was a lot, but now I see it as part of my routine. I leave work, disconnect on the train, and arrive ready to train. The instructors are incredible and the atmosphere is super welcoming. Totally worth it."
David - Barcelona Airport Worker (15 minutes)
"I work in handling at Terminal T1. I leave at 16:00, in 15 minutes I'm at Ryutai, I train MMA from 17:00 to 18:30, and go back home. Perfect for unwinding after work. Plus, the price is better than expensive Barcelona gyms."
